Remember, remember the fifth of November. Time to wrap up warm and head for one of the many organised events. But not all events are equal and for those of us on a tight budget here is my selection of good value Guy Fawkes events.

Yet again, Pershore Town Council’s event comes in at Number 1. This free firework display, ‘Party in the Park’, has been arranged to also commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. Saturday, November 3, 4.30pm start, fireworks at 6.30pm, Abbey Park, Pershore. Please note that there is no bonfire at this event.

The Fleece at Bretforton hosts its annual free to attend bonfire event on Saturday, November 3, 7pm. Please note that there is no firework display at this event.

Avoncroft Museum’s quiet bonfire night will take place on Monday, November 5, 5pm start and the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm. This one is perfect for those who don’t like the regular whizz bangs of bonfire night as it’s firework free. You can take your own sparklers, the kids can enjoy two craft activities and you can even take the dog. It's £3pp with barbecue food and hot chocolate as extras.

Evesham’s Bonfire and firework display at Corporation Meadow has it all. Monday, November 5, 7.15pm lighting of the bonfire and 8pm for the firework display. Advance booking at Evesham’s Almonry is £4 for over-12’s and £2 children (£5 and £2.50 on the gate).

Advance booking at almost any bonfire event can save you money – check individual websites for deals.
