AS votes for our Pub of the Year continue to flood in, one of the pubs in the running for the prize is the Fox and Hounds.

Our Pub of the Year contest see readers voting for their favourite watering hole in the city, with the winning landlord receiving a trophy and being invited to Parliament by city MP Robin Walker.

Votes have been coming in for the award, with the Fox and Hounds in Lulsley among those getting support. The popular pub dates back to the 19th century, and enjoyed an extensive renovation and refurbishment in 2017.

Manager Tom Clarke said the pub is known for its excellent locally-sourced food and a selection of lovely real ales.

"We use only the very best local produce - our dishes are home-made with each element being traceable to a local food source," he said.

"Our award-winning cask ale line-up rotates between the area’s fantastic local breweries."

The beer features two bars, two beer gardens, a children’s play area, a separate restaurant, conservatory function room and dog-friendly areas.

Mr Clarke added the pub was this year awarded a Level 5 food hygiene rating by the Food Standards Agency; received a Cask Marque Accreditation, received a nomination for The Dog Friendly Awards and was commended at the Visit Worcestershire Awards for Excellence 2018.

Voting for the Pub of the Year award is open now and closes on Friday, November 30, so use the slip on this page to support your favourite establishment and tell us why it deserves to win.

Anyone can vote, whether a member of staff or a loyal customer, but we only accept slips cut out from the newspaper as votes, to ensure a fair competition.

The voting slip will be published each week, with pub profiles as people nominate their favourite watering holes.

The competition winner will be announced in the paper and on our website on Tuesday, December 4.

Worcester News editor Michael Purton said: "There are some brilliant pubs in the area and we want to highlight their hard work and high standards."
