AWARD-winning jazz guitarist and composer Martin Taylor teams up with acoustic and slide guitar virtuoso Martin Simpson to play selected dates in the UK, including a night at Worcester’s Huntingdon Hall, this November.

The pair will share the stage throughout the performance – adding to each other’s songs and instrumental pieces “and taking them to new levels”.

A spokesman said: “Martin Taylor was recently name-checked on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show as being considered the best guitarist by no less than Jeff Beck.

“Although completely self-taught, he has enjoyed a remarkable musical career spanning five decades, and during that time has invented and developed a way of playing the guitar that is admired, and often imitated, by guitarists all over the world. “Martin has collaborated with musicians from many different musical genres, including Stephane Grappelli, Jeff Beck, Chet Atkins, Bill Wyman, George Harrison, Dionne Warwick, Diane Schuur and Jamie Cullum.”

Another musical artist Taylor has collaborated with is guitar virtuoso Martin Simpson.

The spokesman said: “There is no doubt that after 45 years as a professional musician Simpson is, right now, better than ever. Widely acknowledged as one of the finest acoustic and slide guitar players in the world, his interpretations of traditional songs are masterpieces of storytelling. He has had the most nominations of any performer in the 18 years of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards; an astonishing 31, 12 of those as Musician of the Year, an accolade that he twice went on to win. Martin Simpson is unpredictable, individual and a guitarist of immense subtlety.

The concert takes place on November 28. For tickets, call
