St John’s Church is holding a tribute evening for the fallen soldiers of the First World War and a celebration of peace to mark 100 years since the final days of the Great War.
A brazier will be lit and poppies will fall from the sky.
The church will exhibit a number of displays made in the local community, including by the Scouts and pupils from Christopher Whitehead Language College. The church will be decorated with poppies by the St John’s Church Flower Ladies.
The Roll of Honour will be displayed so people can find the names and addresses of fallen relatives.
There will be a visit from Paul Harding and Helen Lee from Discover History to explain the role of the Worcester Regiment.
The event begins at 5.30pm on Sunday, November 11 with a reading by Reverend Sarah Cotrill at 7pm before the bells ring out a cry for lasting peace.
