SIR - In reply to Mr Reynoldson's letter (Is the BID campaign true democracy, Craven Herald letters, November 8).
As a business owner in the town who voted for the BID group from the onset and will carry on doing so. It’s democratic that we the businesses get to vote whether we wish the BID group to continue or not and if it’s a yes we trust the BID to do a good job with our money for the benefit of our town. As a resident you get to vote on who is on the council, and then should trust them to make informed decisions as to what is best for our great town.
Gifting the car parks for these and other events gives the town a massive boost which benefits everybody.
My employees all live locally and spend their income generated from our tourism business in local none tourist businesses, such as the hairdressers, butchers, tradesman etc.
So everybody benefits including yourself.
