ON October 31 we published an editorial column regarding David Hill being named as radiographer of the year by the Society of Radiographers, despite delays on the reporting of 35,000 scans and X-rays at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

In that column, our reporter suggested that Mr Hill may have attempted to conceal this backlog, that he had the authority to control which X-rays were reported on, and that the delays of up to 21 days were the time between the image being taken and reported to the GP.

However, all of these points were inaccurate. Mr Hill did not attempt to conceal the backlog, nor did he have the authority to control which X-rays were reported on. Further to this, the delays of 21 days were not necessarily the time between the image being taken and reported to the GP.

We are happy to make these corrections and apologise to Mr Hill for the errors.
