THOUSANDS of people turned out to see Halesowen sparkle with the turning on of the town’s lights.

People packed into the town centre for a day of activities last night (Saturday).

Attractions included craft and food stalls, street entertainers, music, children’s rides and even Father Christmas stopped by.

The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Alan Taylor, was also at the event which was organised by The Halesowen Business Improvement District and Dudley Council.

He said he was “delighted to see so many people in the town to help turn the lights on” and added: “Seeing our town packed with local people and local businesses was amazing.”

The Christmas lights will be switched on in Dudley on Saturday November 24, in Brierley Hill on Friday November 30, and Stourbridge on Saturday December 1.
