Spire South Bank Hospital in Worcester is one of three companies to have been selected as a supplier of private healthcare for police officers and staff.

It has been chosen for the framework agreement with Police Mutual, the not-for-profit financial services organisation, to provide private healthcare services to officers, staff and their families nationwide for the next three years.

Police Mutual offers the largest independent health scheme within the police service which, for an annual contribution, provides members with benefits and treatments that are not readily accessible on the NHS.

Andy Elkington, group sales and marketing director of Police Mutual, said: “Our focus on improving the lives of those who protect us is our way of showing support for what members of the Police do. We were very impressed with what Spire had to offer and are delighted to have them on-board as health partners.”

Tom Ryder, Spire South Bank Hospital director, said: “We’re delighted to be involved with Police Mutual in what is a long-standing and very successful healthcare scheme. We are very proud that they have decided we could provide the quality of care that such a scheme demands and I am certain we will be able to give them the services they are looking for.”
