SIR – We have been constantly lied to and betrayed by this political class for so long now that our political system in this country is broken.

In the Tory manifestos of 2015 and 2017 it said we would leave the single market and the customs union.

Their whole election campaign was just based on a lie which pulled in the UKIP voters to support them on Brexit.

On 21 separate occasions while negotiating Brexit Theresa May also promised to take the UK out of the customs union.

No deal is better than a bad deal, how many times have we heard that one?

The deal itself is a monumental betrayal of democracy and the democratic will of the British people, and our MP Robin Walker played his part in negotiating this agreement as a Brexit Minister, yet he was happy to turn his back on his Worcester constituents who voted to leave.

When Guy Verhofstadt the European Parliament’s Brexit coordinator says he likes May’s deal, then you know that the UK has been sold down the river by these career politicians like Robin Walker.
