THIS dashcam footage shows the shocking moment a stolen Land Rover reversed into a police car in Worcestershire during a chase.

The 4x4 driver stopped the vehicle in the middle of a road in Radford, near Inkberrow, Worcestershire, and then rammed the pursuing police vehicle, which unsuccessfully tried to avoid a crash by reversing.  

The criminal sped away from the scene after the crash, which happened at around 1.30am today.

Superintendent Damian Pettit, police commander for south Worcestershire, said: “Our Operations Patrol Unit team had spotted the Land Rover speeding through the country lanes in the early hours of this morning, they pursued the vehicle, which stopped in the middle of the road and subsequently reversed into our police vehicle.

"We take the safety of our officers very seriously and thankfully the officers in this instance are uninjured. Our officers and the public’s safety is of paramount importance to us. I would like to commend our officers on the professionalism they used to deal with this incident.”

The crash caused significant damage to the police car.

The stolen vehicle's number plate is 4FTX and anyone with information can ring 101 quoting incident number 0031s of November 22.
