HERE is the first photo of a new footbridge across the A4440 Southern Link Road in Worcester.

Plans for the bridge were approved by Worcestershire County Council's cabinet on November 15 as part of an extra £7 million injection to build three bridges across the busy road.

Councillor Ken Pollock, cabinet member for economy and infrastructure said: "A foot and cycle bridge to link the proposed development to the south of the A4440 Southern Link Road and Worcester City is much needed.

"It's great that we are now able to move forward with the process and start to share our plans for the Broomhall Way footbridge.

"Once complete, it will enable full accessibility between the new development area, St Peters and beyond."

Ahead of the formal planning application being made in early 2019, the council will be holding a public information session to answer any questions.

It will take place at St Peter's Baptist Church on Friday, December 7 between 10am and 7pm.
