A COUNCILLOR has visited a school to congratulate them on a a recent Ofsted report.

Marcus Hart, the cabinet member for education and skills at Worcestershire County Council, went to Bishop Perowne CE College.

In all areas of inspection, the school was judged to be good and Councillor Hart received a tour from Year 10 pupils Isabella Barkas and Simon Garnett so he could learn more about the changes the school has made.

Councillor Marcus Hart said: “I am absolutely delighted to visit Bishop Perowne and meet staff and students following their excellent recent Ofsted inspection.

"To be rated as good in all areas, after having been rated as inadequate only 20 months ago, is a tremendous achievement and testament to the hard work by the leadership team, governors, staff and students. It is great that students are receiving this good standard of education.”

Headteacher Mark Pollard, at Bishop Perowne, added: “Everyone at the school is extremely proud to have been rated a good school and we would like to thank Councillor Hart for taking the time to visit and find out more about how we have developed the learning opportunities for our students.”

The visit took place on Friday, November 23.
