THE air ambulance was sent to a crash in Rainbow Hill this afternoon.
A cyclist and car were involved in the crash which happened just before noon.
The cyclist had his leg trapped in the push bike, and paramedics were able to release him from the bike.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics including those from the air ambulance crew, who had landed on a nearby field by the Goodrest pub.
The patient was taken to hospital by land ambulance.
The road was closed by police in both directions for a period, reopening at around 2.30pm.
