A schoolgirl has cut off her long hair and given it to a charity that makes wigs for youngsters.
Erin Martin, from year 7 at Nunnery Wood High School, gave her hair to the Little Princess Trust.
Erin said: “I have been thinking about having my hair cut short for two years now.
"I finally took the plunge and, as 12 inches of my hair was cut, I knew that I will make a boy or girl very happy as I donated every last bit of my hair to the Little Princess Trust.
"I thought that I may be teased, but it was ok because every single one of my friends supported my decision and I would like to thank them for that.”
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young people up to the age of 24 who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
