THEY call Vienna the city of dreams, and it wouldn’t be New Year without the music of Johann Strauss and friends.
But you need not miss out if you’re in Malvern.
A spokesman said: “There’ll be elegant waltzes, playful polkas, and operetta romance from soprano Jennifer France.
“So let the CBSO and maestro Stephen Bell whirl you back to a more glamorous age, as we raise a glass to the start of another great year of music.”
The soprano will be Jennifer France.
The programme will be varied and entertaining, and will include J. Strauss II Die Fledermaus: Overture and Laughing Song; Waldteufel Estudiantina Waltz; Lehár The Merry Widow: Vilja Song; E. Strauss Mit Dampf! Polka; J. Strauss II Persian March; J. Strauss II Tales from the Vienna Woods and J. Strauss II, Tritsch-Tratsch Polka, and more.
The date for the diary is January 5, from 7.45pm, at Malvern Theatres.
