BEAUTY therapy students at Malvern Hills College raised £560 for charity at a special Christmas beauty spa day at the college.

The students organised the day, which included a buffet lunch and a range of beauty treatments, as part of their NVQ Level 3 course. All the money raised will go to mental health charity Mind.

One of the organisers was student Sally Binfield who said: “The day exceeded all our expectations. The clients enjoyed their treatments and lunch immensely.

"The raffle was supported generously and drawn on the day to the delight of those who won prizes ranging from travel vouchers, afternoon tea and beauty treatments to name but a few.

“We would like to thank Stanbrook Abbey in Callow End; Prezzo Malvern, Spires Travel Worcester, ICE Jewellery Worcester, WR15 Hairdressing Malvern, Golden Hands Malvern, ENVY Studio Worcester, Malvern Lounge, Marriotts Little Bakery Malvern and Phoebe Marshall Makeup Artistry in Malvern for their generous donations and time to making the day a real success.”

Lecturer Tracey Hobson said: “The students arranged the spa day as part of their qualification; planning and implementing a promotional activity and working with social media marketing for a beauty salon.

"They organised it completely by themselves and all decided they wanted to do it for Mind as this is close to their hearts.

"All clients have said what a wonderful experience they have all had and how professional the students are. I am very proud and impressed with them all.”
