IS there indeed a bad moon on the rise for 2019?

Or will it all just be great musical fun, with a tribute to a great band that really rocked Woodstock, half a century of New Years ago?

A Worcester audience is about to find out.

A spokesman said: “As we approach the 50th anniversary of the music festival that changed the world, we celebrate one of the headliners of the legendary Woodstock.

“In the early hours of the morning of Sunday August 17, 1969, Creedence Clearwater Revival took to the stage at Woodstock. When others were challenging convention, the band took things back to their roots and cemented themselves as rock royalty.

“Creedence Clearwater Reimagined is a brand new production showcasing one of the greatest and most important bands on the planet. Using original vintage gear and authentic costumes this high energy show faithfully recreates the true sound and feel of CCR at the height of their fame.”

The spokesman added: “Join us on a trip back to the heartlands of America for a journey through the career of this hugely influential band as we showcase the music of a generation. With a back catalogue of well-known classics such as Bad Moon Rising, Proud Mary, Have You Ever Seen The Rain and many more, Creedence Clearwater Reimagined will transport you back to the birth of roots rock.”

Producer Dean Elliott says: “Creedence Clearwater Revival is one of the greatest bands that ever was, but to many they are probably the best kept secret of that era. They wrote some of the most popular songs in history!”

The date for the diary is Wednesday, January 30, from 7.30pm at The Swan Theatre.
