TRAVELIN' Man is the UK's first and only tribute show dedicated to 50s and 60s Rock 'n' Roll legend Ricky Nelson.

And the good news is, it's travelling to the Huntingdon Hall in Worcester, this month.

Perhaps it's fair to say that, in these modern days, the name of Ricky Nelson has slipped from being a household name, while his hits live on as ear-worms from the golden age of Rock 'n' Roll.

A spokesman said: "This authentic show features all the hits of the man who sold more records than anyone between 1957 and 1962, apart from Elvis Presley. They include Hello Mary Lou, It's Late, Just a Little Too Much, Travelin' Man and Poor Little Fool plus many, many more.

"Hosted by local promoter John Banner, the show stars Dave B (currently in the hit show Rock 'n' Roll Paradise as Ricky) who has appeared in London West End shows and on BBC television, and has been heard on radio stations throughout the UK and Europe.

"The show also features the all-star Travelin' Band, with special guest Cheltenham keyboard genius Peter Gill."

The spokesman added: "Dave B has wanted to get a Ricky Nelson show on the road for a number of years. Like most things in life, it’s all about timing and being in the right place at the right time.

"With a previous project, The Buddy Presley Show, drawing to a close, Dave saw this as an opportunity to pursue his dream, and see if there was any interest in his idea. He assembled the best band he could from those available to him at the time and, ever since the first show, at Tiverton Arts Centre in Devon in March 2017, the feedback has been incredible. "

The show has been evolving into a quality theatre production ever since, with input from the current line-up which includes Bryn Thomas on guitar, Jimmy Lee on drums, Eddie McManus on bass, and Cheltenham keyboard genius Peter Gill.

The spokesman added: "This is a rock 'n' roll feast not to be missed!"

The date for the diary is Saturday, January 12, at 7.30pm.
