A 25-YEAR-OLD from Worcester has been banned from driving after admitting being over the alcohol limit.

Timothy Bird, of Ransome Avenue, admitted drink-driving when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Bird was stopped in an Audi RS3 on December 13 because officers were concerned by his speed on Shrub Hill. He failed a breath test at the scene and two more at the station. He had 50mg of alcohol in 100ml, above the 35mg limit.

Bird was banned for 15 months and fined £415.

Addressing the court, Bird said: “I completely understand I was over the limit – I guess I had one pint too many.

“I felt ok to drive but I am sorry for my actions.”

Magistrates heard that Bird was serving a suspended sentence for producing a Class B drug, cannabis, imposed by Warwick Crown Court on June 8 last year.
