SIR – I am horrified to read in your paper of the ridiculously large rent rise proposed for the Lady Foley Tearoom at Great Malvern Station by Great Western Railways.
This establishment is an integral part of the station, is well used and much loved, so it is unthinkable that it may be forced to close.
No doubt the other two people that operate at the station will also be forced out; as far as I know they are both charities.
Presumably anyone renting units wherever these sharks operate will be in the same situation, so shortly they will actually be getting no money in at all in rent as no-one will be able to afford to stay.
