A LABRADOR cross called Kiera and her owner, Isaac, from Worcester, are celebrating after winning one of the world's top dog agility competitions.

They triumphed in the ABC (Anything But Collie) final at the Kennel Club Olympia Agility Stakes in London.

Isaac Hartley, 20, and Kiera competed in agility qualifying heats across the country before winning the top prize at the London International Horse Show at Olympia.

For Isaac, victory was all the sweeter because Kiera is apparently a bit of a diva.

“This is one of my biggest achievements to date, along with winning Crufts 18-24 agility," said Isaac.

"The win means so much because she isn’t the easiest dog and required a lot of work.”

Held in association with Skinner’s pet foods, the Kennel Club Olympia Agility Stakes saw the top dogs compete in five finals in the small, medium, large, large novice and ABC categories.

William Delamore, sales and marketing director at Skinner’s, said: “The standard at Olympia was world-class; every year we look forward to the competitions and we are thrilled to be part of such a prestigious event.

"Congratulations to Isaac and Kiera for such a fantastic performance and we’d like to wish each and every competitor the best of luck for 2019.”

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club secretary added: “Congratulations to Isaac and Kiera, we saw so many talented dogs and handlers over the weekend.

"The Olympia Stakes is true testament to how popular and exciting agility is as a canine activity.”

The Kennel Club Olympia Agility Stakes were held at the London International Horse Show from December 19 to 23.
