A SCHOOL has combined activities based around keeping fit to encourage the students to follow a healthier lifestyle.

Perdiswell Primary School, in Bilford Road, has focused on educating the students on healthy eating, with a variety of activities that have taken place during class time.

The students have made healthy wraps, smoothies and took part in bread making.

Sophie Griffiths, from Sports Challenge, completed exercises and activities with the younger children.

PCSO Faci, the community police officer at the primary school, ran basketball sessions.

Stuart Brooks and Jodie Rich, who regularly support the school with wellbeing, organised boot camp type activities with the junior children.

Mrs Hughes, headteacher at the school said: “The children have thoroughly enjoyed the wide range of opportunities during this start to term. Also, through the schools focus on well-being and respect, all year groups discussed racism, using sport examples where appropriate and the very negative impact it has.”
