WORCESTERSHIRE’S secondary schools fared well after government figures showed only one school was ‘underperforming’.
According to the Department for Education, one school of 30 in the county failed to meet the floor standard. The news came as figures were released for last year’s GCSE results.
In Worcester, Nunnery Wood High School achieved results that were ‘well above’ the national average, while Bishop Perowne CE College was next on the list with ‘above average’ results.
Among those ‘below average’ were The De Montfort School in Evesham and The Stourport High School and Sixth Form. Waseley Hills High School, in Rubery, was the only county school to be ‘well below average.’ See tomorrow’s Worcester News for full details.
