DRIVERS could face delays over the next few months as there will be evening and night-time closures taking place at junction 6 of the M5.

As part of the M5 junction 6 Improvement Scheme, there will be closures taking place from Monday (January 28), and drivers have been advised to allow extra time for transport.

The daytime off-peak lane closures will take place from 9.30am to 3.30pm and the night-time off-peak closures from 8pm to 6am.

As part of the improvement scheme, the roundabout, slip roads and all the approaches will be widened, with an extra lane added to the roundabout.

Diversion routes will be put in place for any full carriageway closures.

Traffic signals will be put on the A449 and the A4538 Pershore Lane south approaches.

To complete this work safely, Highways England say the following traffic management measures will be put in place:

- Narrow Lanes in place on the roundabout and all approaches.

- 50mph speed limit in place reducing down to 30mph.

- Free recovery service in place on both Highways England and Worcestershire County Council network.
