POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they want to talk to after a woman was sexually assaulted in a Worcester city centre street in the early hours of the morning.

The woman, in her 30s, was assaulted just after 4am on Saturday, in Taylor’s Lane, a narrow street between Sansome Walk and The Tything and to the side of the Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum.

Referring to the CCTV image, a spokesman for Worcester CID, which is investigating the assauly, said: “This man may have information vital to our investigation.

“We believe he was drinking in Monroe’s Cellar Bar in Foregate Street, Worcester, until around 4am and that he interacted with a number of people while he was there.

“We’re keen to hear from anyone who spoke to him or recognises him or has any other information that could help with our investigation.”

The man is described as being around 6 ft 5in tall, white with dark hair and some facial hair. He told people in Monroe’s Cellar Bar he was Romanian and speaks limited English.
