A MAN was safely brought down from a city centre roof, following police intervention.

Officers cordoned off several roads after reports were received of a man on a roof – believed to be that of Pure Gym – in St Martin’s Quarter, Worcester, on Monday at 9.30pm.

Pheasant Street and City Walls Road were amongst those closed off to motorists.

A West Mercia Police spokeswoman said the incident – which lasted around two and a half hours – was “safely resolved”.

She said the police log shows Pheasant Street was re-opened by midnight with others believed to follow shortly after.

PureGym Worcester has been contacted for comment.
