ANYONE in doubt about whether police respond quickly when tipped-off about a suspected crime should read today’s story about how officers swooped to arrest four alleged burglars after receiving a call from a concerned resident.
A 23-year-old woman rang police after spotting three men peeking into houses and cars in Seymour Avenue, Northwick, Worcester, at around midnight on January 30. Officers were quickly on the scene to search the area and found a vehicle, containing tools, face coverings and other items, in Northwick Close, Worcester.
The four males inside the car were arrested and two have been convicted of preparing to steal items, with the other pair due in court later this month.
That’s the definition of swift justice.
The number of recorded burglaries is down in Worcester year-on-year and has been declining for some time, and that’s because police are getting better and better at catching criminals and keeping them off the streets.
So if you see a suspected crime taking place, dial 999.
