A WORCESTER insurance firm has become the first of its type in the UK to get new cyber security training.
Sutcliffe and Co, in Foundry Street, have become the first UK insurance company to achieve Cyber Essentials, a government sponsored security training programme aimed at teaching businesses to protect themselves against common threats online.
Duncan Sutcliffe, director of Sutcliffe & Co, said: “We take cyber security very seriously and have been waxing lyrical for years to anyone that will vaguely listen about the benefits of Cyber Essentials.
"Being keen on the ‘practice what you preach’ mantra, we took the decision to take the next step ourselves and invest the time and effort needed for the ‘plus’ level of Cyber Essentials.
"This should help give our clients and the insurers we work with the additional peace of mind that Cyber Essentials Plus provides."
In November last year, Worcester News featured Duncan Sutcliffe in our 'Behind the Business' feature.
