TODAY'S picture from the past dates back to August 1994, when postman Thomas Clarke marked his 50th year of making deliveries. Mr Clarke, who began delivering letters the day before his 14th birthday, reckoned he had walked more than 100,000 miles in that time and fended off numerous dog attacks.
