Every day during half term from Saturday, February 16

• Explorer’s Trail – Explorers are invited to help our palaeontologist, Dr Nock, to find the missing Ice Age animals and learn some fascinating facts about them along the way! Stamp the booklet and show the completed trail to earn a special prize.

• Explorer’s Craft Club – Join us for hands-on arts and crafts in the Discovery Room with colouring sheets, fact-finding and clay modelling.

• Photo Competition – Take a ‘selfie’ with a mammoth once you have discovered them and post it to the WMSP Facebook page for a chance to win a Family Annual Pass.

Explorers Week activities are included in the standard admission charge of £24 for adults, £19 for children aged 3-15 and £22

for concessions. Admission includes a Free Return Ticket. Adventure Theme Park rides are charged extra.

After six weeks of maintenance, the Severn Valley Railway will be back every day from Saturday, February 16 until Sunday, February 24.

Half term events include:

  • Bricks & Blocks - Saturday, February 23 and Sunday, February 24. Finishing half-term on a high, let your imagination run wild as you join creative LEGO® inspired workshops at The Engine House. Travel by train from Kidderminster or Bridgnorth to join Master Builder 'Bricks McGee' for free fun-filled workshops throughout the day. Make your way to The Engine House at Highley to take part, with workshops from 11am.
  • Meet the engine that collided with a camel! You can meet an engine that crashed into a camel in the desert, at Kidderminster Station. 8F No. 48773 will be on display throughout February half-term, climb aboard the footplate with volunteers from The Stanier 8F Locomotive Society to find out all about this fascinating engine with a very colourful history.

Visitors are invited to join Thomas & Friends™ for a fun-filled adventure at Europe’s only Thomas Land, home to 25 rides and attractions suitable for children and adults of all ages.

The Fat Controller and his friends will be on hand to provide fun and giggles at their Balcony Shows at 11am, 1pm and 3pm daily. Visitors should also keep their eyes peeled when visiting Sodor for special surprise entertainment and activities throughout the day.

Visitors will also have access to Drayton Manor Park’s 15-acre zoo before the park officially opens for a brand new season on Wednesday, March 27.

Avoncroft Museum

Who Wore It Better? Fashion Policing the Past

Activities and workshops

From Tuesday, February 19 – Friday, February 22

Young visitors will have a chance to find out more about clothing of the past including opportunities to try on clothes of the types their ancestors would have worn.

Activities will include hands on workshops to make a hat inspired by the past and a chance to design their own fantastic outfits. Outdoors, visitors can explore the historic houses where costumed volunteers will show off their clothing and take part in the free Outrageous Fashion – Fab or Fail Trail around the Museum grounds.

Activities are aimed at families with children aged five and above.

Activities in the Guesten Hall are 90 minutes and start at 11am and 1.30pm. Pre-booking is essential.

Children must be supervised at all times.

Winter admission prices apply with an additional charge of £3.50 per child for workshops.
