ANNIE will be the community musical in Tenbury this year.

After the huge success of Oliver! and The Wizard of Oz, the Tenbury community musical is now an established part of the local arts calendar.

The past two productions have regularly brought together nearly 100 performers, backstage people and filling the theatre for seven performances.

“The number of people who put their hand up to help is fantastic and again this year we really want to include as many of the community as possible,” said Adey Ramsel, general manager at The Regal.

“As well as local actors we need backstage people who will help with costumes, sewing, set building, finding and making props, helping on the technical team.

“It’s a truly community event and everyone loves being part of it. Many theatres produce a community musical as a way of bringing people together and ours is no exception. After our pantomime, the community musical is our second biggest production.”

Adey Ramsel is also looking for a business from the area to sponsor the show.

“We are also on the lookout for a show sponsor so if any local company out there wants to sponsor a large community event, email me and we can talk - no obligation,” he said.

Auditions for the hugely popular show are to be held on Sunday, February 24 are open to everyone; and the show runs from July 6 to 13.

The Regal is looking for adults, children, from seven years old and there is no upper age limit!
