IT’S cabaret time in residential homes, at Women’s Institutes and for church congregations with entertainment by youngsters from WODYS - Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society Youth Section.
This year’s cabaret features songs from West End and Broadway shows including Matilda (When I Grow UP), West Side Story (America), Hairspray (You Can’t Stop the Beat) and Seasons Of Love (Rent).
The show was produced and choreographed by former WODY member Lydia Healy, who is now a singing teacher, married with a daughter. She was assisted by cabaret member Becs Hitchings.
It features 12 youngsters aged 12 to 18 and combines singing, dance and movement.
Meanwhile the cabaret members join the rest of the WODYS youngsters aged 8 to 18 to make up the 65 cast of the next show – on at the Swan Theatre. Worcester, from Tuesday to Saturday, July 30 to August 3.
