A CITY singer who became a viral sensation as 'Worcester's Pavarotti' last summer will be making his next appearance on a TV talent show tonight.

Luke Swatman, from St Johns, will be appearing on The Voice UK this event in the next stage of the popular signing competition.

In January, the 35-year-old's successful blind audition was screened. On that show he gave a pitch perfect version of Andrea Bocelli’s ‘Il Mare Calmo Della Sera’ and, crucially, coaches and singers Olly Murs and Jennifer Hudson both turned their seats to show they wanted him on their team.

After a short deliberation Mr Swatman eventually decided to pick American singer Jennifer to be his coach, later telling the Worcester News "she is a great recording artist, most suited to me.”

Mr Swatman's appearance will see him sing in the last of the battle rounds. In this round he will sing a song chosen by Jennifer with another of her team members.

And after the vocal face-off she will pick one act to progress, knocking out the other act.

The show is being screened from 8pm on ITV1.
