The RIVERSIDE café in Worcester officially re-opened last weekend, and owner Alex Daw said he is more excited than ever for when it fully opens at the end of the month.

The café, at North Quay, had been closed since November last year but has been re-opened by Mr Daw, 40, after he won a city council tender to take on the site.

Mr Daw said: "We had a soft launch on Sunday, March 3 and had some really positive feedback from customers as well as some lovely reviews on our Facebook page.

"At the moment we are just opening at weekends so we can make sure everything is working properly but from April 6 we will be open in the week every day.

"What we will be doing is regularly changing the menu slightly to make sure we are serving things which are in season and offering something slightly different.

"We are really interested in pushing our ethical food and drink so we only use free range eggs, all our coffee is either Fairtrade or Rainforest Alliance certified and we are really excited to be open."

The cafe was originally opened by Chris Wise, who ran it alongside his partner Mandy Thomas for 12 years before closing it in November last year.
