REMARKABLE prizes have been donated to a fundraising event for Oscar Saxelby-Lee, the five year-old from Worcester who is battling an aggressive form of blood cancer requiring a stem cell donation.

The event, to be held at Nuffield Health and Fitness on March 30, was organised by Sarah Price, whose daughter Freya is also at Pitmaston Primary School with Oscar.

She said: “We decided to do something to raise money for the family’s JustGiving page by having a fundraising night for Oscar.

“There is going to be a raffle and an auction, as well as live music by Vintage Inc.

“As soon as we started we had some incredible prizes being donated including teeth whitening, cricket tickets, a family ticket to the sunchine festival, a tour for six people of the Aston Martin Factory, a trip to the Bentley factory for two people, a chauffeur driven session in a McLaren 720 Spider and a pet portrait painted by Caroline Passey.

“It is amazing to see how many people have gotten involved and promised to help.

“Graham from Vintage Inc approached me said the band would play for free if I could find a venue and Nuffield kindly offered the room for nothing.”

Tickets to the event are available from Nuffield, ISO Quality Services Ltd and from Mrs Price herself on 07951454138.

Nearly 5,000 people came to sign up for the stem cell register at Pitmaston Primary School on March 3. More than 1,000 came to the Guildhall in Worcester on March 9 to sign up and donate money to the DKMS charity.

There will also be another event in which university students in Worcester can sign up for the Anthony Nolan Register.
