A DRIVER who was stopped with traces of two drugs in his bloodstream has been banned from the road for 12 months.

Worcester magistrates heard that Jack Taylor, aged 23, of Burlingham Avenue, Evesham, was seen by police in a Ford Focus car at St Marks Close, Evesham, on November 19 last year.

Police had been looking out for the car for another matter, and they gave Taylor a roadside drug test.

It proved positive, and blood tests subsequently revealed the presence of delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol and of benzoylecgonine, indicating the presence of cannabis and cocaine.

Taylor admitted two charges of driving with a controlled drug in his system, and another of driving while not insured.

Jo Outhwaite, for Taylor, said he had only driven the car about 50 yards when he was seen by the police.

As well as the disqualification, Taylor was fined £276 with costs of £135 and a victim surcharge of £30.
