A WOMAN who was begging at the Cross in Worcester was fined £30.

Worcester magistrates heard that at about 11.30am on February 19, a police community officer saw Juliet Robinson asking passers-by for spare change.

Robinson, aged 36, of no fixed abode, admitted a charge of begging in a public place.

Mark Sheward, for Robinson, said she had become homeless in September last year, and normally slept on the doorway of Debenhams.

As well as the fine, Robinson was told to pay a victim surcharge of £60 but no order was made for costs.
