Brauchli Opticians, in Worcester, is a well-established business in the city centre, dating back over 60 years.

Practice Manager Wendy Eichel said: “We pride ourselves in our expertise and understanding specific customer needs, this has been the core of our business.

“In addition to sight tests and spectacles, we are offering a new domiciliary service for individuals who are unable to attend our Practice without assistance.

“We can now provide complete professional eyecare in the comfort of their own home. Above all, we will use the same specially trained team from our Practice, who already appreciate the importance of professional care. We are eager to support independence and well-being and deliver a high standard of eyecare.

“It is a wonderful thing to be able to do, as we already value our existing customers and can now offer this service to new clients who require a domiciliary visit and fall within the criteria.

The industry has changed significantly in the time Brauchli Opticians has been established, and staying up to date by delivering the provision of excellent eyecare is vital.

Wendy added: “We also recognise that our everyday lifestyle has changed considerably over decades, technology has improved too, allowing our industry to offer the perfect solution to most of our customers.

"We already provide Diabetic Screening, Retinopathy, and PEARS appointments for emergency eye conditions.

“People are now realising the importance of a sight test and our ability to detect early signs of diabetes, glaucoma and macular degeneration is re-assuring.”

Wendy has worked in the industry since 1994, training as an Optical Technician then moving up to Practice Manager. Once arriving at Brauchli’s she said: “I realised that I had the perfect opportunity to give each customer the benefit of my knowledge, and more importantly, the time. Having made glasses for years, I know what is doable and what isn’t and what’s best or even what’s worst."
