In 2016 and 2017, comic theatre company Fol Espoir left Arts Alive audiences helpless with laughter, with their show Instructions for American Servicemen in Britain. Due to popular demand ‘Instructions’ now returns for positively the very last time!

It’s WWII and a horde of Yankee servicemen has just arrived in England, where the locals speak a strange dialect, boil all their food, and talk endlessly about the weather. The Americans see the Brits as a strange race. Get ready to judge for yourself in a night of joyous laughter and downright silliness as a crack team of experts attempts to explain the rules of British life.

Theatre company Fol Espoir joins forces with comedy trio The Real MacGuffins to create a rumbustious show inspired by a genuine pamphlet produced at the time. Structured around a training session for newly arrived GIs – aka the audience - the show gently pokes fun at 1940s British eccentricities and the American troops who tried to understand them.

Get ready to be instructed at Silvester Horne Institute in Church Stretton on Friday, March 22 at 7.30pm. To book, call 01694 720132 or visit artsalive.co.uk for online booking.
