LORRY drivers are set to block motorways including the M5 in protest at the Brexit extension.

The anti-EU BrexitDirectAction is the group behind a go-slow demonstration that is set to cause havoc across motorways in Britain after 5.30pm this evening.

It appears the M5 in Worcestershire will not be affected - but this is not certain from the information released so far.

A tweet by Brexit Direct Action read: "Brexiters all over the country are planning to bring this country to its knees by blocking the main arterial routes.

"M1, M6, M25, M62, A1, A55, M5, M4, M42, M55, M61, A66 etc."

The protest comes after EU leaders offered to delay Brexit until May 22 if MPs approve Mrs May's deal next week, or if the deal goes against the government there will be a delay until April 12.

Britain's was meant to leave the EU a week today, March 29.

Highways England and the police have said they are aware of the protest.
