A MOTORIST was punched several times in the face through his car window, before the attacker took his keys.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the "nasty assault" in Kidderminster Road, in Bromsgrove, last weekend.

The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Sunday, March 24, on the road towards Chaddesley and by Berry Lane.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by another man who had stopped his car in front of the victim's car and then assaulted him by punching the victim several times in the face and head through the window of his car.

The victim sustained facial injuries which required treatment.

The suspect is described as a man in his mid-30s, white and of stocky build, and who was wearing a dark jumper.

Following the assault he removed the victim's car keys from the ignition and threw them into the bushes before driving off heading towards Kidderminster.

PC Dee Stanley, from West Mercia Police, said: "This was a nasty assault that has left the victim injured and shaken.

"We take reports of this nature very seriously and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault to please get in touch.

"You may have noticed two cars stationary in the road at around 8.30pm on Sunday, March 24, on the Kidderminster Road between Chaddesley and Bromsgrove by the Berry Lane junction.

"If so, please get in touch.
