POLICE found drugs on a man during a strip-search, a court heard.

Shah Haque, of Chedworth Drive, Worcester, was carrying five tablets of MDMA and amphetamine.

The drugs were discovered after the 22-year-old was arrested on Pitchcroft racecourse for behaving aggressively.

Shafquat Reaz, prosecuting, said: "He was strip-searched. A small plastic bag with five pieces of a white substance fell from his clothing onto the floor.

"These were sent for examination and it was concluded that these were MDMA and amphetamine."

The court heard that the drugs were worth around £20 to £30 and were for his personal use.

Paul Stanley, defending, said: "In August last year he was arrested for three offences, these drugs, an assault and a public order matter.

"He was arrested and charged in relation to the last two matters. He was given a community order for those offences and released under investigation as far as the drug offences were concerned."

He was handed a 12-month community order in October last year.

The court heard that Haque started using drugs around two-and-a-half years ago, after he fell in with the wrong crowd.

Mr Stanley said he now worked for a Chinese restaurant and was expecting his first child.

Haque pleaded guilty to possession of MDMA and amphetamine.

He was arrested by police at Pitchcroft racecourse, in Worcester, at around 12.24am on August 18.

Officers arrested Haque after he started behaving in an aggressive manner, magistrates were told.

The court heard that he was also abusive to officers and was taken into custody.

Worcester Magistrates Court told him to pay a £200 fine, £185 in costs and a £30 victim surcharge on Thursday.
