IN a time when England could barely seem less united, could a concert in Worcester raise rafters and spirits, and all in the name of St George and a feel good factor?

The musical focus will be on nostalgia and visions of the countryside and landscape, as musicians from the Faithful City find much to celebrate, after all.

A spokesman said: "If you would like to escape the news and celebrate all that is good about dear old England, then join Worcester Male Voice Choir for their St Georges Day concert.

"We will paint a picture of a, ‘Green and pleasant land,’ sing of brotherhood and fond memories.

"We will be joined by soloists from Worcester City Brass, who I’m sure will add to the chorus, so feel free to lend your voice to a, ‘Land of hope and glory.’ The concert will be held at St Martins Church, London road, from 7pm on Saturday April 27, a few days after St George's Day itself.

Tickets are available from Eventbrite.co.uk, Worcester tourist information at the Guildhall or 01905 381879.
