TODAY'S picture comes from August 1996 and shows detectorist Sharon Townsend with a Victorian bell she unearthed during a day out on her hobby. Sharon, of St Peter's, Worcester, was a member of the National Council for Metal Detectors and together with husband Gordon, had uncovered Roman brooches and buckles at various confidential sites, keeping locations under wraps being normal practice for detectorists.
