A NURSERY is celebrating its 25th birthday by holding a fete and

digging up a time capsule.

Jenny Gregory, the owner of Wishing Well Nurseries, a small chain of four nurseries and an after school club in Worcester set up the nursery on her own, and now her son Tom Jenkins runs it: "I was childminding at home, I have got three sons and they just got fed up with me having children in the house all the time. I was trying to find a premises and it just sort of evolved and grew.

I was struggling to do it all on my own. My son Tom has been with us 10 years, he does the accounts and the business side. I give the place a woman's touch." Mrs Gregory said.

Mrs Gregory said it is the relationship the staff have with families that has kept the nursery going. "I have always wanted a home away from home. It was always about the families. I have got staff that used to come as children and I have got returning parents. I remember them and they remember me. It's not just dropping your children off, it's personal and we care about them as families. "

"We buried a time capsule in 2000 and we have decided to dig it up on the 18th, I'm hoping we can find it 20 years later. If the weather is nice we can have a bit of a picnic. "
