A NUMBER of parish elections across Wychavon also took place last week which saw a couple of gains for Labour and the Liberal Democrats in Droitwich.

In Droitwich, elections for the town council on Thursday (May 2) saw a number of Conservatives hold onto their seats and two new Liberal Democrats elected in Chawson and Droitwich Spa West. Labour also gained a seat in Droitwich Spa Central.

Christine Bowden, Bob Brookes, William Moy and Alex Sinton were all elected in Droitwich Spa East for the Conservatives.

Labour’s Nathan Griffiths and Alan Humphries were elected in Droitwich Spa Central, Charles Murray for the Liberal Democrats and David Morris for the Conservatives were elected in Chawson and Sandy Laird and Richard Morris were elected in Copcut for the Conservatives.

In Droitwich Spa West, Jenny Chaudry, David Craigie, George Duffy were elected for the Conservatives and Rodney Hopkins was elected for the Liberal Democrats.

Eric Bowden and Robert Beale were both elected for the Conservatives in Witton.

Elections also took place for Evesham Town Council.

In Bengeworth, Mark Goodge and Robert Hale were elected for the Conservatives. Julie Haines for the Liberal Democrats, Independent Albert Booth and Norbert Tucker for the Green Party were also elected.

In Great Hampton, Frances Smith was elected for the Conservatives with Independent candidates Brian Turrell and Emma Haynes also elected.

Gerald Bearcroft, Patrick Clifford, Andrew Dyke and Robert Raphael were elected for the Conservatives in Little Hampton. Evesham Independent Sarah Schaathun was also elected.

Conservative Jennifer Johnson, Evesham Independent Emma Nishigaki and Labour’s Susan Smith were elected in Avon.

In Evesham Town South, the Conservative’s Susan Amor and Lynne Jakeman, Marlene Sale, Evesham Independent Christine Smith and Julie Tucker from the Green Party were all elected.

Finally in Twyford, Patrick Boyd and Jo Sandalls were elected for the Conservatives alongside Evesham Independent Gary Hale.

At Broadway Parish Council, David Folkes, Gordon Franks, Mary Hardiman, Frederick Hartley, Antony Holmes, Graham Love, Barrie Parmenter, Frederick Penny, Florence Phillips, Andrew Riley, Nigel Robinson, Rosalind Rogers and Elizabeth Wilks were all elected.

Elections also took place for Elmley Castle, Bricklehampton and Netherton Parish Council.

In Bricklehampton, James Douglas, Andrew George and James Maude were all elected.

In Elmley Castle, Christopher Ballard, James Hickman, Jane Martin, Adrian Parker, Jerry Strong, Michael Taite and David Thompson were all elected.

In Great Comberton Parish Council, Keith Barnes, Rhys Collingwood, Suzanne Hamilton, Shelagh Inglis, Arthur Lavelle, Edward Pearce and Anthony Peart were all elected.

In St Andrews ward for Pershore Town Council, David Annis, Michael Pincher, Julie Hemming, Christopher Parsons, Valerie Smith, Charles Tucker, Elizabeth Turier and Matthew Winfield were all elected.

Sydney Bates, Christopher Burdett, Nicola Davies, Michael Hadley, Paul Langham, Stella Wallis and Pauline Warren were all elected to Stock and Bradley Parish Council.
