A MANAGING director of a windows and doors company took part in one of the countries biggest biker events and raised £720 for Midlands Air Ambulance.

Lee Freeman, managing director of LFW Windows Ltd in Worcester took part in Bike4Life. Mr Freeman said: “They closed off the motorway for all the bikes. The atmosphere was brilliant. The bridges were packed with well wishers, people waving us on. Thousands turned up to see us off as well.”

“It was brilliant to see so many bikes.”

Nearly 4000 bikes turned up to the event. Starting from Meole Brace in Shrewsbury, the ride out took bikers on a 23 mile route to RAF Cosford, and home to the Bike4Life Festival. At the festival Mr Freeman met superbike racer Carl Fogarty, Steve Parrish and Mike Tindall.

Mr Freeman said: “I did it last year as well, I raised £515 last year so I tried to at least match the target this year. We got a lot of sponsors and I raised a lot more.”

This year Bike4Life has raised a total of £84.000 for the life saving charity.

Mr Freeman is no stranger to raising money for good causes. In December he took on the Santa Skydive, raising £1360 for St Richards Hospice by jumping out of a plane dressed as Father Christmas.

LFW Windows Ltd paid for his skydive and covered all the other costs for the event, so that all the money raised went straight to the hospice.
