The box office smash comedy, Hormonal Housewives, is coming to The Courtyard in Hereford this June.

It stars Vicki Michelle (‘Allo ‘Allo, Emmerdale), Josephine Partridge (‘Top Girls’) and writer/comedian Julie Coombe as part of a UK tour which is going down a storm.

A spokesman said: "Hormonal Housewives’ is a witty, topical, rude and extremely funny three hander.

"This hugely popular, no-holds-barred show blasts its way through a catalogue of women’s bits: weight gain, weight loss, mood swings, housework, homework, electrolysis, men, sex, working out, staying in, going out, celebrity gossip, a lot of chocolate…and you get the idea!"

As a critic for The Stage put it: "Hormonal Housewives’ hits the proverbial spot for the hordes of females who are hell bent on having a laugh at both their own expense and that of the male species.”

But what does Julie Coombe have to say about it?

She said: "My character is like me in that she’s happily married and incredibly comfortable in that relationship which allows her to poke fun at it as well. The character is a sort of heightened version of me.

" I do think our audience is primarily women; I want them to feel they’ve all come round to Josephine’s house for a night in with a bottle of wine and some good chat. I want people to be howling with recognition and seeing themselves up on the stage – we want people to be sitting in the audience saying ooh that’s me up there! I’d like to think men will come along to see the show as well – probably with female friends – and find out what it is we all talk about! Ultimately I want the audience to feel as if they’ve spent the night in the company of some really good friends."

And what are the key issues?

Julie said: "Body issues is one: my character is always talking about losing half a stone while the other two talk about losing weight even though they don’t need to – and we all know someone like that!"

The date for the diary is June 4.
