POLICE have confirmed a man has been arrested in relation to an incident in which staff were attacked at Worcester Foregate Street Station.

In May the Worcester News featured an appeal for information on the incident in which a teenage boy verbally abused a staff member, after being asked to leave the station as it was closing.

The suspect walked away then returned and slapped the staff member in the face. After the suspect again walked away, he then returned and suddenly punched the staff member, causing the victim to suffer a cut above the eye.

British Transport Police officers, who investigated the incident, say a man has now been arrested and charged.

Police are still appealing for information on the incident. Anyone with information can call BTP on 0800 40 50 40, or quote reference 638 of 24/04/19.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
