THE annual Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival is being held in the town’s historic Lido Park later this month.

This year’s programme promises more food, entertainment and fun, with a jam-packed line-up being held over two days.

Nearly 100 food and drink stalls will be in place across the weekend, running from 10am on Saturday, June 22, with entertainment through to 9pm in the evening.

The fun will continue from 10am until 5pm on the Sunday.

Now in its seventh year, the Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival is a foodie heaven, with a host of local award-winning products.

The festival has a strong emphasis on local producers with almost 90 per cent of exhibitors coming from within a 30-mile radius of the town itself.

There will be entertainment on the bandstand, featuring Come Together, Chloe Chadwick, the Coventry Brass Band and Jazz Alchemy.

A chilli eating competition will be presented by the Clifton Chilli Club, from YouTube, which is free to enter, however it’s not for the faint hearted.

The Love Food Roadshow will feature a full line-up of expert chefs presenting live cooking demonstrations in the outdoor kitchen.

Demonstrations will include a masterclass in making cocktails, a champagne tasting session, and an array of sweet baked goods.

There will also be entertainment for the children, such as bumper cars and boot camps.

The town will be celebrating its heritage of Droitwich salt, with the ‘A-Salt’ course on offer for the whole family, with personal trainer, Clive Sanders of Sanders Fitness leading proceedings.
